Sithembile Xola Pearl Thusi (born 13 May 1988) is a South African actress, model, television host, and radio personality. Thusi is known for her portrayal of Patricia Kopong in the BBC/HBO comedy-drama series, her brother is Kwanele a.k.a Kaycee The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency, Dayana Mampasi in the ABC thriller Quantico and Samkelo in the romantic drama film Catching Feelings. She has an upcoming lead role as Queen Sono in the Netflix crime drama series Queen Sono.

Thusi is the host of Lip Sync Battle Africa on MTV and e.tv, as well as the talk show Moments, on EbonyLife TV. She has starred on the SABC 3 popular soap opera, Isidingo, as Palesa Motaung, co-hosted Live Amp with DJ Warras and Luthando Shosha, the SABC 1 celebrity gossip magazine show, Real Goboza.

Refiloe Maele Phoolo (born 16 December 1990), commonly known as Cassper Nyovest, is a South African rapper, songwriter, entrepreneur and record producer. Born and raised in Mahikeng, North West, he is regarded as one of the most successful artists in South Africa. In 2014, he established his own record label, Family Tree Records. Nyovest rose to fame with the release of his debut studio album, Tsholofelo (2014) which produced the successful singles “Gusheshe” and “Doc Shebeleza”.

With his success of selling out tickets for his concert, Fill Up The Dome (2015) which was held at Ticketpro Dome in Johannesburg.The success of the event pursued Nyovest with the affix “Fill Up” to instigate more concerts in different stadiums annually, including Orlando Stadium (2016) and FNB Stadium (2017), also both in Johannesburg, and Moses Mabhida Stadium (2018) in Durban.




Nyovest released his eponymous studio album, Refiloe, released in October 31, 2015, at his Fill Up The Dome concert. The album collaborates with several international artists including The Game, DJ Drama, Stonebwoy and Casey Veggies. He followed his success with his critically acclaimed third album Thuto (2017) and his kwaito-focused fourth studio album, Sweet and Short (2018).

Refiloe Maele Phoolo was born on December 16, 1991 in Mafikeng, a borough of North West, to Muzuki and Letsebela Phoolo. Nyovest has a sister Tsholofelo Phoolo, and his late brother, Khotso Phoolo who passed on in 2003. He attended the Sol Plaatjie Secondary School where he was an athlete and partook in various sports. Nyovest started rapping at the age of 12. In 2006, he failed his Grade 10 exams which led him moving to his grandmother’s house in Potchefstroom. Therefore, in 2007, he decided to drop out of high school at the age of 16.

In 2008, Nyovest relocated to Johannesburg to pursue a career in music as a rapper and producer, after telling his parents he would rather chase his dream, which he believed would work out, rather than playing it safe and regretting it his whole life.

Boitumelo Thulo (born April 28, 1990), professionally known as Boity, is a South African television personality, rapper, actress, businesswoman and model. Born and raised in Potchefstroom, North West, she was a co-host on the SABC 1 educational series The Media Career Guide Show. She is the founder of a weight loss supplement Boity Toning Support.

In 2016, she collaborated with Sissy-Boy for a jean collection which was predicted to be about “being sexy and celebrating curves”.Thulo continued her venture with Sissy-Boy as they released a new collection in July 2018.

In 2018, she partnered with Impulse SA in creating limited edition fragrances. She also graced the cover of Cosmopolitan SA for the September issue.

Thulo was born in Potchefstroom, North West, where she was raised by her maternal grandmother. She is the only daughter of Modiehi Thulo her mother, and her father (anonymous name) who she had a distant relationship and was drifted apart from, when she was a teenager.

Thulo studied Psychology and Criminology at Monash University, but later dropped out because her parents were incompetent to pay her high varsity fees. She then signed to a casting agency which resulted her in appearing on a Wimpy commercial in 2010.

Thulo’s television career began when she presented the YOTV educational show “Crib Notes” in 2011. She then was a co-host on the SABC 1 The Media Career Guide Show, which she hosted alongside Stevie French. She also served host duties in several television shows, including SkyRoom Live, Ridiculousness Africa, Club 808, Zoned, Change Down, and Big Brother Africa (as online insert presenter).

In 2012, Thulo starred on the drama series Rockville, which was her first starring role. She appeared for all 4 seasons playing “Mpho Bogatsu”.

Thulo’s film debut was in 2014 when she starred on a comedy short-film Dear Betty, were she played “Betty”. She also was featured in the film Mrs Right Guy (2016) were she played “Marie”

Thulo made her rapping debut on the Migos Culture Tour in South Africa on October 21, 2017 at Durban. As Migos delayed by few hours, Thulo joined Nasty C (one of the opening act) to entertain the crowd while the trio were on their way.

In 30 August 2018, Thulo released her debut single “Wuz Dat”, featuring Nasty C. The song won at the 2018 South African Hip-Hop Awards for the category “Best Collabo”.

Kiernan Jarryd Forbes known professionally as AKA, is a South African rapper, songwriter, record producer, singer and entrepreneur. Born and raised in Cape Town, Western Cape, Forbes gained significance after releasing his single “Victory Lap” which was released for his debut album, Alter Ego (2011).

Forbes continued his success by releasing studio albums which include Levels (2015), Touch My Blood (2018), and the collaborative album, Be Careful What You Wish For alongside Anatii (2017).

On April 2018, Forbes alongside vodka brand Cruz launched the watermelon-flavoured drink with his initial on the bottles. That same month, Forbes was featured as a special guest on WWE Live events which where held in Johannesburg and Cape Town. As for 2019, he was the roastee for the Comedy Central Roast special.

Kiernan Jarryd Forbes was born on January 28, 1988 in Cape Town, Western Cape.

In 2002, Forbes alongside his two friends Vice Versa and Greyhound, formed a hip hop group called Entity. The group received a nominee on the KORA Awards for the Best African Hip Hop category. Entity disbanded in 2006, leading Forbes to go study sound engineering. In 2006, Forbes co-founded the production collective The I.V League alongside two other members. The I.V Leaguemade production credits for artists including Khuli Chana, ProKid and JR. In 2009, he released three songs, which include “In My Walk”, “I Do” and “Mistakes”.

On July 28, 2010, Forbes released I Want It All, which is the lead single from his debut studio album, Alter Ego. The album also pre-released two singles which was “All I Know” and “Victory Lap”. Victory Lap was a success as it topped South African local radio charts. Alter Ego was then released on August 23, 2011. The album was certified gold by RiSA for its commercial success. The album won several accolades notably being for the 2011 Metro FM Awards winning for Best Hip Hop Album, and the 2012 South African Music Awards for Best Male Artist of the Year

Minenhle Jones (born Minenhle Dlamini, 7 July 1990), simply known as Minnie, is a South African on-air personality, actress and model. In 2010 she was selected as the new presenter for the SABC 1 music show

She was born to Jabulani and Queen Dlamini in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal Province of South Africa. She had her early education at Northlands Girls’ High School before she proceeded to the University of Cape Town where she studied film, media, drama and economics[incomplete/excluded]

While studying at the University of Cape Town, Dlamini was a presenter for LIVE on 16 June 2010 after she made her debut screen appearance while covering the “Youth Day” and “World Cup celebrations” shows. She later co-hosted Mzansi Insider, a SABC 1’s lifestyle show. In 2012, she resigned from the show in order to pursue a career in acting. In 2013, Minnie switched to sports broadcasting by co-hosting Soccerzone with Thomas Mlambo until in 2016 when the show’s format was changed by SABC 1. She has since co-hosted several local and international award ceremonies including the 14th Metro FM Music Awards, 2016 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, the PSL Awards and the South African Film and Television Awards.

In 2010, Dlamini debuted as a film actress in Generations, a SABC 1 TV soap in which she made a guest appearance as Miranda. She went on to play a lead role as Zintle Lebone in the soap The Wild and as Nosipho Bogatsu in Rockville.

Dj Zinhle was born on 30 December 1983 in Dannhauser, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa and is currently 34 years as of 2018. She is a renown Disk Jockey who served as the resident DJ on the SABC1 music show Jika Majika and hosted her radio show on YFM. Dj Zinhle is also an actress, having appeared on television series like Rhythm City and eKasi.

Dj Zinhle stepped into the South African DJ industry at a time when it was male-dominated. The talented young lady quickly managed to draw attention with her crazy skills on the decks. Renown deejays like DJ Oskido have been quoted saying that she is one of the best Disk Jockey in South Africa.

DJ Zinhle never aspired on becoming a DJ. She only got into it because of chance and circumstance. Her brother Zak owned a company that hired out sound equipment, and he had so much love for music that he would always de-stress through mixing vinyls at home. One day he showed her how mixing works.

Her first on the deck gig happened when she was helping her brother set up for an event. The DJ was late, so Zinhle stepped in and slowly became in love with the art breaking some ground in the male dominated industry.

Zinhle always knew she wanted to work in entertainment and initially trained to be a TV presenter. She got her first big break with the dance show Jika Majika. Jika Majika is a popular SABC1 youth show that showcases the latest dance moves. Zinhle was selected as the DJ for the show from 2006 to 2009, this pushed Zinhle into the spotlight and made her a household name.

Thato Sikwane, Professionally known as DJ Fresh, is a Motswana radio DJ, producer and entrepreneur based in South Africa.

One of South Africa’s most popular DJ is Dj Fresh. If you are a radio listener in SA, then you are extremely familiar with the name, Dj Fresh. He was born and raised in Gaborone, Botswana, he then moved to SA in 1994 to study, 17 years later, he’s now a household name.

One thing about Dj Fresh is not to joke with him on Twitter, he will definitely put you at the right place. Through his constant interaction with his fans, he has carved a niche for himself and he’s now a household name in SA. Dj Fresh has won loads of awards and still winning, he simply deserves a place here.

Nsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo (born 11 February 1997), known professionally as Nasty C, is a South African rapper, songwriter and record producer. Born in Diepkloof, Soweto, Johannesburg and raised in Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal, he gained public recognition after releasing his mixtape, Price City (2015) which produced the successful single, Juice Back.

After releasing 2 mixtapes and 1 EP, Ngcobo released his critically acclaimed debut album Bad Hair (2016), and Strings and Bling(2018) which was associated and supported by his first tour, The Ivyson Tour.

He was the youngest recipient for an award at the 2015 South African Hip Hop Awards, namely the Best Freshman Award

Nsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo was born on February 11, 1997 in Diepkloof, a borough of Soweto, Johannesburg. After the passing of his mother who was involved in a fatal car crash while he was 11 months, he relocated to Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal to be raised by his father, David Ngcobo, who is a human resources manager. He has an older brother Siyabonga Ngcobo who influenced him to rap as he learnt the basics of producing music from him while he was nine. At the age of fifteen, Ngcobo released his debut mixtape One Kid, a Thousand Coffins on May 14, 2012.He then released his debut EP L.A.M.E (Levitating Above My Enemies) on April 4, 2014. The following year on February 10, he released his second mixtape Price City which produced the successful single Juice Back that raised his prominence. Juice Back later spawned a Gemini Major-produced remix featuring singer Davido and rapper Cassper Nyovest on 20 November 2015

On February 11, 2016, Ngcobo released his single Hell Naw which was later revealed it was going to be the lead single from his upcoming debut album. On September 23, Ngcobo then released his debut album, Bad Hair under Mabala Noise Entertainment, after making fans on Twitter to email him their portraits showing their bad hair periods. He then combined all the portraits in an artistical manner of assembling his face. Bad Hair reached no. 1 on the iTunes local charts and was the most streamed album in South Africa within its 24 hours. Ngcobo released the 14-minute film featuring 3 songs from Bad Hair directed by Kyle Lewis. The short-film which included tracks Don’t Do ItGood Girls and Snapchat Hoes and Phases featuring Rowlene, was commercially featured in several countries including France, Germany, UK and the US, which was infrequent for an African video.




On December 2, 2016, Ngcobo released the extended version for Bad Hair named Bad Hair ExtensionsBad Hair Extension featured new 4 songs including the lead single Allowfeaturing American rapper French Montana. In winning many accolades for both 2016 and 2017, Ngcobo received his biggest nominee which was for the 2017 BET Award for Best International Act: Africa where he lost to Wizkid. He was also nominated for the 2017 MTV Europe Music Awards. Ngcobo was ranked no. 3 on the 2017 MTV Base: SA’s Hottest MCs
