FRSC vows to prosecute defaulters over Ore gridlock



The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Ondo State Command has disclosed that those causing traffic snarl along the busy Benin-Ore expressway and on the Ore flyover will henceforth be prosecuted.

It was gathered that commercial drivers, motorcyclists as well as hawkers had been contributing to the gridlocks within the axis

According to the FRSC Unit Commander in Ore, Sikiru Alonge, said the flyover was built to ease traffic flow, but had been converted to something else.

While lamenting that commercial drivers, motorcyclists and hawkers had turned the flyover to their loading and selling points, Alonge maintained that the development had been causing nightmare for motorists.

“We will meet with the chairperson, Odigbo Local Government Council and the people in charge of the motor parks in the area to get them involved before we take severe actions against defaulters,” Alonge said.

Alonge also warned road users in the axis to ensure the maintenance of their vehicles and obey traffic rules on the highway to guarantee the safety of lives and property.
